never in my life i would of thought i would have to go through this. i see red, white, and blue colors everyday. should i be scared because i see police officers? no i see a beautiful flag that i have grown up with, and i hate it that now they are trying to kick us out of here! i love it here. this is home. i want to make my parents so proud but now things are on hold. passing THE DREAM ACT would help so many lives and specially mine. i do not want to live in fear no more! i want what i have been raised to do and that is SUCCEED!
I support the DREAM act! As I write this I feel like crying because I know the pain of feeling let down by our circumstances. Many of our parents left so much behind for our future and now that we are able to continue our education and do better things for our future we are told that we can’t. I feel disappointed, after all of my hard work and my parents sacrifice. Now what? I can’t apply for many scholarships, although I have all the educational requirements, I CANT because I don’t have a valid nine digit number and now the rest of my future is at stake. PLEASE GIVE ME A CHANCE, LET ME LIVE MY DREAM, MY PARENTS DREAM, THE DREAM OF ALL OF THE THOUSANDS OF YOUNG ASPIRING ADULTS, PLEASE PASS THE DREAM ACT!
AS A USA CITIZEN, I SUPPORT THE DREAM ACT! THESE TALENTED, YOUNG INDIVIDUALS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PURSUE THEIR DREAMS!!! LETS STOP PUTTING THEM ON HOLD! PASS THE DREAM ACT!!!!
Obama pass the Dream Act!!!
This dream act would be a dream come true if it was to pass. A true blessing, i graduated top of my class with honors, and am also part of the national honor society. But since i graduate high school i haven't been able to move on to college or work.
I SUPPORT THE DREAM ACT AND I HOPE AND PRAY THAT THIS ACT CAN BE PASSED. I AM ATTENDING TO HIGH SCHOOL RIGHT NOW. I DO PLAN ON GRADUATIN HIGH SCHOOL THEN JOINING THE NAVY, THAT WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE. THOUGH I CAN'T DO THAT BECAUSE I AM UNDOCUMENTED, BUT I STILL HAVE FAITH THAT SOMEDAY I WILL JOIN THE NAVY.:D WE ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO ACCOMPLSIH OUR DREAMS, PLEASE SUPPORT THE DREAM ACT!!
The benefits of passing the DREAM ACT out weigh the negatives. Congress needs to stop fighting with each and doing whats best for their party. They need to start doing whats best for this country and its citizens. The DREAM ACT will allow this country to have access to many bright young people and their future contributions to this country.
I need the dream act to pass.
It would be my dream and for others too.
We need a great future and I know we can and we need to overcome the barriers that people put against us.
Only the youth can prevail in making this dream come true. We need everybody to call their senators nd tell them to vote and support the Dream Act. This is the only way for every undocumented youth to persue their dreams, and for doors of opportunity!
I don't agree with any reason to NOT pass this Bill. Our generation depends on this, as well as future generations to come. The U.S. is a melting pot and will continue to grow with every new culture that embraces the American way of life.
I support the dream act just cause you are from somewhere else doesnt mean that you should not be allowed to the same privlages as anyone else. Our young minds are a terrible thing to waste and anyone who opposes such an act obviously has not had to walka mile in an immigrants shoes....
Martin Luther King Jr. once had a dream, now all the immigrant students have the dream for the dream act to pass. don't deny these kids for a better education, better life, and better future. every immigrant comes to the United States for the AMERICAN DREAM but these people are putting more obtacles to these kids that only want to have a better education, people like the arizona governor putting this ridiculous law it is just frustrating to me to see how pathetic that women is. let the dream act pass everyone should have the right for their AMERICAN DREAM.
ps: just like George Lopez say "we ain't going NO WHERE".
My parents are here in this country because they wanted to provide us a better life with higher education. Higher education that was not offered in the small town where their from. We are begging for this act to pass so we can continue our education with no obstacles. WE ARE FIGHTING FOR A CHANCE AT EDUCATION!!! Isn't that what they teach us in school. Go to college, get a degree, become someone, get a good job. Well, how is that possible? We came here for a chance, a chance to make something for ourselves and what we ask for is obviously too much!
My son is a US High School graduate (suma-cum-laude), however, due to our immigration status we are paying high tuition fees for his college degree, we are underpaid workers trying to pay bills.
Although it is a great burden to us, we struggle to pay his tuition because he is not eligible for any type of scholarship, grants or funds due to our condition, he is a great kid with unbelievable talent which we do not want to be wasted so we are paying for his college education. However, if his situation is changed he may be able to get a student loan, this is his 3rd year in college. During his 1st year @ college he made the Dean's list, he has a college GPA of 3.8 or over.
Due to his situation he can not drive so he has to commute by bus for 2 hours transferring from one to another and it's wearing him down because it's tiring.
We all migrated to this great country a few years ago due to the political and economical situation from where he came.
He speaks english, spanish and italian fluently.
It's a shame to waste talent like this, which is the case of many many young children out here and when I see their struggles I think about my own son.
What a shame.
LIKE MOST IMMIGRANT STUDENTS THEY WANT TO FINISH SCHOOL. OUR PARENTS CAME HERE TO GIVE US A BETTER LIFE. THEY HAVE TO WORK REALLY HARD TO GIVE US EDUCATION WE NEED.THE UNITED STATES IS JUST THROWING AWAY EDUCATION FOR THE IMMIGRANT STUDENTS. WHATEVER HAPPEN TO THE SAYING, "THE CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE?" IF WE ARE THE FUTURE, THEN GIVE US THE RIGHT TO CONTINUE OUR CAREER. IM SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING IMMIGRANTS TAKE AWAY JOBS FROM THE LEGAL PEOPLE. WE DONT TAKE AWAY ANY JOB FROM THEM, ITS NOT OUR FAULT CITIZEN DONT LOOK FOR THE HARD JOBS THE IMMIGRANTS DO. ALL THEY DO IS SIT AROUND AND DO NOTHING ALL DAY BUT TO JUST COMPLAIN THAT WE TAKE THEIR JOBS. THINK TWICE BEFORE YU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT. YU WILL NEVER SEE A CITIZEN OUT IN THE HOT SUN BUSTING THEIR BACKS JUST TO FEED THEIR FAMILY.
Let them dream about the most beautful dream.
The Dream Act is a great idea and I think it should pass.
It's just matter of raw justice, those non-regular inmigration status students are not loittering as matter of fact they are trying very hard to improve their lives in every sense intelectual and economical. Let's make justice to them and pass the act right away for god sake!!!
I am a student, not an illegal.
its not fair what they are doing to all the illegal people..if you take 5 min to think about it este pais no es nada sin las gente ilegales..we work harder then any americans..first it was that black and white didnt get along now is that americans and latinos dont get along..when is this going to end..there are children that are going to loose there parents..your taking there rights away from studying here and then you wonder why there are so many delinquents..the governer from arizona is one STUPID BLOND BITCH AND ALL I COULD SAY TO YOU IS FUCK YOU OLD AZZ BITCH..YOU NEED SOME DICK IN YOUR LIFE!!!!!!
Please pass the Dream Act Now!!!!
Poititions do your job!!! Start fixing the mess that we in the us have caused!!!
A very good friend of mine who was brought here as a child and is stuck in the legal limbo that is at the roots of this organizations purpose. She asked me to back the cause and for her I would do anything within my powers. She is a wonderful person, always upbeat and optomistic despite her hardships of living in the states without family, unable to get a job or support herself due to the laws. It is a horrible situation to be in and I wouldnt wish it on anyone. Something should be done.
Please help those children who are talented and bright but have no guts to show what they know because of their status. They can be a big contributor in America's economy in the future because of their education.
Dream act for a better future
My name is Fernando De La Garza, am 25 years old, I got deported March 4, 2010, If this law passes I will be reunited with my family, who is in Oklahoma, I was deported for driving with no drivers license, I have 2 sisters that were born in the states, all my close family is in the states. I graduated Guymon High School and attended two years of technical school, I also have a good moral conduct... But my heart feels betrayed by the United States of America... I never turned my back on the States and the States turned its back on me... :(
May Father God provide the willingness to perdure till this dream act is no longer a dream!! But a reality allowing thousands if not millions realease their dreams!!!
1 more year until graduation, great GPA... now what?
Please pass this for my friend Carlos a full time student and full time worker. He has worked his toosh off for himself, his family and his country. He's a young human being so give him hope. Allow him a better future.
I myself are an immigrant and my biggest goal in life is to go on to on to a 4 year University. I know I can do it on my own, throughout High School I have strived to get the best grades I can. I know that the DREAM Act would facilitate me being able to attend college. I will be a senior in a few weeks and to be truly honest with you I am extemely nervous becauseI know this year is going to cme and go in a flash, yet I am uncertain of what will come next. This law would help so many of us that have dreams and aspirations to better our lives. I am not asking for pitty but a lot of us have endured hardships and a further education would greatly help to better our lives.
It is a dream for many, and a reality that would change their lives forever.
pass dream act now we need it to better our lives
Please pass the DREAM ACT now !
I really need the Dream Act to pass badly like many others do. I was brought here when I was barely two and I dont know what to do if I were to be sent back. I dont know any of my family members. The only people that I actually do have as family is my parents and godparents. I dream of becoming a doctor in the future. I will be the first one in my family to go to highschool and hopefully to college too. But in order to go to college, the Dream Act has to pass. Im more american than I am mexican but no matter what I will have my hispanic pride in me. Please pass the Dream Act
I decided to sign this petition because Ive heard how hard it is to make it to high school & wanting to go to college but u cant. I heard the same story from my parents who are from Mexico. In my opinion EVERYONE should be treated equally with the same rights because we are all a race & that is the HUMAN race. Not because of our color or where we come from. I know if we try as hard as always the DREAM ACT will make a big change in the U.S.
IM FROM RHODE ISLAND. AND I NEED THE DREAM ACT TO GET ACCEPTED SO I CAN PERCIEVE MY DREAMS AND GOALS, I CONSIDER MY SELF AS AN AMERICAN BECAUSE I GREW UP HERE THIS IS MY LAND AND I LOVE IT. THIS IS WHERE I WANT TO BE. PLEASE SUPPORT IT FOR ME AND THE REST OF MY PEERS, I WOULD BE SO GREATFUL. THANKS
Please get this through really soon. A lot of these innocent kids live their entire life here with the hope of receiving their well earned status'. This will finally make it happen for them.
The Dreams Act will really help out the students who are trying to further there education please help these innocent students who live most of there life over here.
You guys need to stop playing these kids went to school here in the USA all there lives let them live in the USA because as they complete high school they should automatically become citizens.
Please, we need Dream Act for our students... they are the beautiful future that this great country is looking for...
The Dreams Act is a truly American ideal, as it allows the young and intelligent to seek a future that will better the nation
I am so glad that finally somebody thought of this Act. I face with this issue of insecurity and stress over my future and what will happen when I am done with school and can't pursue it. Specially when my id is about to expire and I can't get it renew anymore since the laws changed. I really hope from the bottom of my heart that something gets done fast for all of us who just want a better future in the only place we know as home, the US.
The dream act needs to be pass. People like me who spent most of their lives here and graduated from high school have alot more of potential. We can attend college and make a change to make the united states a better place. We are not criminals, we just want a higher education. We are gonna fight for our right for better education.
There are many students who worked hard their entire high school years to plan to go to college and better their status. Then they find out that they won't be able to continue their education because they won't qualify for financial aid, grants, or loans. Their goals and dreams cut off just like that. Then there are those who party in school and that are going to college simply because it doesn't cost them any of their own money. It's the taxpayer's money that is putting them through school. I believe that this Dream Act will help out the people who deserve it and who will be an asset to the Nation. :)
Piece of my mind! I honestly think passing the Dream Act will help our Country. Forget all the BS and Just get the Act passed. MLK had a dream and it passed so lets put the predujice days behind and not look at a freaking status. We are all not the same color but all share the same blood. Seriously people its not fair.
The time has come for hard work to reap proper reward despite where you were born.
bring justice to those who were born without any and are fighting for it! these are people who are begging for a chance to do things right, gain an education and help improve society. how can this country deny them this?!
Recently graduated!
PASS THE DREAM ACT!!!
I believe that students who have grown up here in the USA should be given a chance to become citizens, provided that they are in good standing, and want to become integrated as Americans, and not as "foreign national" living in America.
My hope is that this bill will give that opportunity to these young people
The youth of illegal immigrants are victims or circumstance and should not be punished for the actions of their parents. They had no choice...let's give them a chance!
I support this act for all the people who had no choice in their future. Even though it doesn't seem to directly effect me, it could give my boyfriend the chance to go to college, support me and a family, and live his dreams. I believe it will be a great change and opportunity for the US!
I want the DREAM ACT to pass because I want to go to college and become someone in life.
I will keep praying that our God will show us once again his power in this situation and that he will touch the hearts of the Senators and Leaders so that they may pass the Dream Act because it will help thousands of great students with high GPA get into college, so that they may pursuit their dreams and aspirations. Many of these students want to benefit the US with their knowledge, but cannot because of the immigration rules and guidelines.
I know that the best is yet to come for all those who are waiting for this miracle.
The day the DREAM Act is passed is the day all will rejoice. Can't ask for equality in everything, but if it's to better oneself, why not allow everyone the opportunity?
I want this reform to past so i can go to college
I support this reform, and i want this reform to be accomplish, because many student like my self are suffering by this terrible laws that U.S government are doing this to students that want to have a dream like me. So i want my dream to be accomplish and i want to be some one in this country.
Please use your legislative power to help young high school students who fall victim to the deportation back to their home countries when their families remain under Visa protection.
The DREAM ACT should pass because it would help alot of people like me that, couldn't go further with my education to actually go further in life and succeed to the max. It is very important to us in order to get ahead without any road big blocks.
Ted Fu also inspired me to sign and support this.
I think that the dream act is very important because it will help make other children's dream of becoming someone important in this country real. This will give many illegal childern many chances of having a bright future. So i think that this program is a new start to our country.
Dream Act needs to be passed as soon as possible. Please let this act pass!!
This is act should be passed! Not only is it economically benficial but its basic logic! Think of it like this. What if your parents told you that you were moving? Even if you didnt want to would you have a choice? Probably not, so why should these youth, my husband included, have to pay for what their parents did? We wouldnt be punished for our parents killing somebody would we? They need to pass this act, like NOW!
We need this Act in order for justice to be done for all Americans.
everyone have a chance to do something with their life rather then get stuck in the middle. They didn't choose this life of getting stuck in the US by choice it was given to them so this should be passed for the less fortunate.
I could not imagine a more reasonable proposal that would enrich this country, which is also quite difficult to abuse.
I am a citizen born and raised here .I no many young teenagers that graduated with my kids last year. That cant plan for the furture. That realy saddins me. This act would be a blessing!!!
This is essential to the future of America. I work in schools where bright children face a horrible future. We need this workforce. Please enact the dream act.
The Dream Act should be passed, there are so many students like myself that need is law to be passed. I'm fortunate to be attending a community college for now, but I don't know for how much longer my parents can help me out, even with loans. The Dream Act, would really help me and others who also came to the US.as children and graduated High School here, finish our careers.
my biggest fear is gradutating because i know that after that happens i have little cahnce of succeeding without a legal status in this country no matter how succesful i am now im high school this would be the biggest help in the world i support the Dream Act.
WE need this law to pass!.. We want to be Americans and be part of this beautiful country
The Dream Act will give me a second chance. I was brought to the United States when I was only 12. I finished high school and attended a community college for two years.. However I had to come back to my home country because I could not afford a 4 year school. This act would give me a chance of going back to the place that I love and cherish.
Pass the Dream Act.. It is a our second chance...
I want earn my dream i need a chance.
Ted Fu inspired me to sign this.
The Dream Act must be passed so that my adopted grandson, Mark, can complete his studies and not have to return to England when he is 21. If this should happen the Dennis family will be split. Steamboat would lose a hard-working consciencious family who give greatly to the community.
My parents brought me to the U.S in 1995 if been here ever since.I love it here and i don't know anything else tgan here,if I was to be taking back to mexico I wouldnt know where to go.I graduated in May of this year and I really wanted to go to college but I can't go because I am illegal,it really breaks my heart when my parents can't do nothing about it
I'm foreign on both sides. I hope this bill passes soon.
I am a junior at CSU Long Beach majoring in Social Work and getting a minor in Psychology. Beside all the stress that school can cause to any college student, my biggest stressor is the current fact that I may not be able to fulfill my dream of working and contributing to my community like everyone else. Despite my fear and anger I will continue to fight for my dream because MY DREAM COUNTS TOO!
I was born in mexico but raised in the usa so i am not just a mexican i am a MEXICAN-AMERICAN.
I support this comprehensive BIll!!
Graduating from high school with honors had given me strong hopes for building my future. For the past three and a half years I have been an "AB540" student at a local community college; completed my GED. Where I stand now, gives me no opportunities to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. The DREAM ACT needs to be passed now! I, and many other "AB540" students need to move on.
I am also the byproduct of this lack of inactivedness. Please help Mr. President. I have a Masters in Education and can not teach due to my lack of a greencard.
Thank you
I am in support of the Dream Act. I was born on the fourth of July, 1993 in the U.S. My brother was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States when he was four months old along with our parents. He and my parents have been on visa's for nineteen years, yet it is still impossible for them acquire citizenship. My brother is nineteen and as it is now, he can not be on our parent’s visa after he turns 21 years. The DREAM Act would allow him and many other kids to have a pathway to become citizens.
We are here to contribute to the united states. all we ask for is an opportunity to demonstrate that we are all Americans who love this country and who just want to be a part of it. we are contributors please give us the opportunity to succed!!
My nephew has lived in the USA since he was 4 months old. He has studied hard at school and is now attending Boulder university on a four year course. Because of the laws of the USA he will have to cut short his course when he is 21 and return to a country he hardly knows, leaving behind his family and not being able to complete his Batchelor degree. Surely the USA should be encouraging young people like Mark to stay in the USA and complete their studies not turning their backs on them. Please let this Dream act proceed and stop splitting families.
To be able to have the persistence required to wait for such a monumental bill is an amazing feat by itself. However, to have that persistence along with the willpower and determination to follow your dreams and never allow others' actions to waver your ultimate decision of becoming successful.... that makes me believe that, one day, the world will be a great place because of these incredible people.
We should have the opportunity to dream of our future like all of our other classmates.
The Dream Act would make the dreams of my sister and family, a reachable goal.
This is one of the most important things that Congress must approve. Some undocumeted immigrants come to the US for a safer life. They want to be a part of society and work for the greater good. Many kids have worked hard through school and as they are ready to graduate they can not continue to higher education.
Please pass the dream act, this is going to revitalize our country
I have worked with many outstanding young people who fall into this category. Many of these are more conscientious and are of moral character than some native young people who take their citizenship for granted. We need Dream Act qualifiers to stay here and share their goodness with America and the world.
i strongly support the DREAM ACT. and I really hope President Obama pass the plan as soon as possible in order to let the country allow any of us being able to go to college for achieving further educations and degrees. so many people like me have been living in the darkness, and we need to see some changes of a new immigration policy. please pass the act.
The gifts that the undocumented immigrants bring to the nation are overwhelmingly greater than the cost that is perceived. We cannot afford keeping a section of our population in the the shadows of ignorance. Education is the key for the success of our state and our nation.
Let the children live their dream. Nothing should stop them from getting a better education.
Please pass the DREAM Act. So many students and young people are living in the shadows, being denied inclusion into society and being punished for the actions of their parents.
DREAM 2010
PASS THE DREAM ACT WE ALL HAVE DREAMS FOR A BETTER FUTURE
i support the dream act because im in love with an immigrant with a dream of one day been able to go to school or to have there papers its not fare for anyone that has been here sense their child hood
we all have a d.r.e.a.m a dream to become and have a better future in this free country that is america land of the free we all have to put our word in everyone deserves an apportunity
This hard working students deserve a better future.
I'm an American citizen and I support the DREAM Act. Friends that deserve as much as I get are instead left struggling for every little thing. Please help.
