From the statistics, it seems that not many people are going to be affected by this bill. Yet the people that do meet the requirements, would be a definite improvement to the country overall. With such high drop out rates, and so much youth criminal activities, it can be very easy to give into that, especially knowing that there isn't anything concrete, and there hasn't been anything for a while.
This bill would ensure that a good amount of people that can contribute to the country and be considered as 'home grown' to have the opportunity to shine. Many students have to contemplate going back to their original countries, whom most of them don't even know, because there are lack of options here. That has to change. We are not criminals. We just want to belong.
The wait has been long, life keeps passing us by and the opportunities to better ourselves are unreachable. Some of us are educated with nowhere to practice our skills legally and others are working hard to obtain that degree that says they are educated and ready to live the american dream but where is the help from our leaders where???? For years there's been all talk but now action. Lets be proactive and actually practice what we preach!!! We need the DREAM ACT to be Passed now!!!
I highly believe that education should be availble for all people This is truly an amazing act that shall allow more students to have an opportunity for success. Thank you.
It goes against everything the United States stands for to send these hardworking immigrants back to their country of origin. They were raised here and America is the only home they know. It was not their choice to come here, but they should have the choice to stay and remain in the land comprised of immigrants to continue making a positive contribution to this needing society. America was built by people like them. Let them stay and prove their worth!
Please pass the Dream Act. We NEED it!
It is extremely unfair and injust that so many people with education cannot work in this country. They have worked so hard for so many years and so much dedication to their studies. Not to mention the sacrifices that there parents have made leaving their countries, their families and the life they once new that felt safe to them. Now they are here, where they feel like they don't belong, they are not accepted and faces challenges everyday. This demoralizing of people needs to STOP NOW.
I was brought here by my parents when I was 13 years old. I am now 33 and even thought the road has been tough, I managed to graduate from college with a B. S. in Computer Science. I have a great paying job but I still live in fear that my employer will find out about my status and fire me. It happened to me once already and I cannot express enough how frustrating it is to be viewed as a some kind of criminal. What choices have I had? I may not have legal status but I do consider myself an American and I love this country, I grew up here. I think most of us Dreamers feel the same way.
The Dream Act is the best thing that congress could pass this year to correct this huge problem. We're not looking for a hand-out, we just want a fair chance.
If a young person is willing to put in the extra effort and actually make something out of their life, I am for it 100%. There are too many young kids in today's world who could care less.
Let's keep this rolling and going!
I think some states are crazy about the way things are. These people on the whole would make great Americans. They already love this country. I say come on in and welcome
I hate the new victims I do not think the
Mexican people are any worst then we are
as a people I feel any group of people no
matter where they come from are just like the rest of us good bad and indifferent.
I am worried about any State that think because they are lilly white and were born here forget how they ended up here in the first place. In such case I think the Native American should have show me your papers. You be born back in the old countries and there never would be a American country we still be colonies of the powers to be in Europe.
Good luck to you people I welcome you with open arms.. I do not even want to see your papers. Pat.
yous dont need a green card the gringos are easy to trick just find one your hight and get toknow them find out all there info ss#best to break into there house and steel all the papers my friend even killed one and hide the body and still drives the dudes car you dont have to stand around dreaming for an act act yourself do for you self god helps thoes who help themseelfs peace out
I have been living in this country for years and i am much of an american as natural born citizens so i think the dream act should be passed because we had no say in whether we wanted to break the laws or not it just happened so i do NOT think we should be punished for just wanting to do something good in the world do you?? so please pass the dream act and save many futures

Time to act. These children came to this country with parents, not by thei choice. They have no country to "go home to". They are home.
We Can Do It !
As a citizen spouse, I fully support the DREAM Act. The United States has invested time and money into the K-12 system for our children-both native born and non-native born. Let us retain our investment for our future. Please stop the brain drain in our society through cessation of deportations of students and their families. Please support this bill to utilize our home grown talent to achieve success as a part of our great nation!
We need to help our children to finish their education please.
I know a young woman who was brought to this country at 4 years old. She has gone through our school system and is an outstanding human being. she is now 23 years old and would like to join the air force but she cant because she does not have green card
The dream act should get past because it would open so many doors for alot of students ! that want a better life then their parents had and want to help out there families
I have been waiting for something like this for years. I pray that this passes so I can finally begin to live!
Let our dreams come true.....
never give up! keep moving forward!
in good faith it will be..no chilrens / students behind...you guyz are the future!!!
I'm in college and have lived in houston, tx since I was 7 years old and just recently moved to dallas because is so hard for me to find a job and having a job is my only way to pay for school. I have no kids and I live on my own, I just turned 21 and life is very very hard when I can't even a job. I don't want anything for free no food stamps, nor money for school, the only thing I want is to be able to work like a regular person my age, and finish a career.
Aa a highschool teacher at a school with large hispanic population . I think this is a great idea. I am sadened every year seeing wonderful students graduate but, because they are illegal their bright futures are less bright. I was once illegal I know what if is like to live in fear. These students will only make our country better. They deserve a chance.
I pray that you will see us as what we are: young men and women striving to make a future for ourselves in only country we call home. If your children or grandchildren were unfairly being hindered from reaching their goals, wouldn't you help? Of course you would!
All I'm asking is that you realize that just like your children attended Elementry School, so did we. Just as they went to Middle School and participated in the talent show, so did we. Just as they experienced their first day in highschool, so did we.
It's time for compassion, time for us to be seen as more than illegal immigrants. and instead to be seen as a part of all those classes that have graduated highschool, be it the most recent 2010, 2009, or even the as in my case 1999.
For ten years I have waited and prayed for this Dream Act. In these ten years I've achieved an B.A degree due to financial restraints that made it too difficult to continue towards my B.S.
As the adult I am today, I can honestly say I am grateful to God for being brought here when I was only 5 years old. I can also tell you how difficult it has been to have dreams that I have not been able to achieve, because I was simply not given a chance.
So please, I beg you, not just for me but also on behalf of all these young women and men, please give us a chance. Please pass the DREAM ACT now.
Best Regards,
Carolina Patricia Bohorquez
Make our dream a reality!!!!!
I pray this passes!!!
please pass the dream act, give all of us a chance in this great country. the individuals that qualify for this latest dream act proposal, have spent the majority of their lives in this country, and only have the best interest for it.
I know people who don't have their residential status, who graduated from high school, who graduated with honors, and top of the class, I think those students should have the right to continue their education and accomplish their American Dream.
I think that it's time for us to have a chance and prove that we didn't waste our time.
Please pass the DREAM ACT!!!!there are soo many of us that want to succed in life and get an education pass high school. I believe we deserve an education:)
President Obama, please pass the Dream ACT!
my dream and future is all up to you.
10 years ago, this would have been me, fearing deportation. I stand in solidarity with all of you as humans that deserve to have a healthy and safe future and an education. Borders have no meaning, sending love and hope in your struggle.
The DREAM act would end with all my worries and allow me to become a doctor to serve my community
The courage of these students is inspiring.
This would honestly be a DREAM come true For my boyfriend....I hate to see such a focused and intelligent person not be able to do anything with their talent =(
I want to join the Navy and later serve in the National Guard, but the lack of a silly little number is whats preventing me from serving my country.
We need to be strong!! i know we can do it!
Si se puede!!!!
I think this is a good step in the right direction toward immigration reform. I hope that this passes soon.
we should all be given a chance for the American dream
and take advantage of what many take for granted
AN EDUCATION!
There is NOTHING my heart burns for more than to enter a four year university here in the United States where I've lived for most of my life and make something of myself. Excluding my father, my family's application for permanent residency has already been denied twice, our savings have been completely depleted, and we have been waiting for more than 10 years for an answer. I will graduate from high school in about a year. If Congress fails to act quickly on this matter, my family's suffering, strenuous hard work, hopes, and dreams will be of no use. I sympathize SO much with everyone else going through similar or even tougher situations. This country's future is in the hands of the youth, but our future is ultimately in the hands of our legislators.
I want the DREAM ACT to pass because I want to go to college and become someone in life.
I will keep praying that our God will show us once again his power in this situation and that he will touch the hearts of the Senators and Leaders so that they may pass the Dream Act because it will help thousands of great students with high GPA get into college, so that they may pursuit their dreams and aspirations. Many of these students want to benefit the US with their knowledge, but cannot because of the immigration rules and guidelines.
I know that the best is yet to come for all those who are waiting for this miracle.
The day the DREAM Act is passed is the day all will rejoice. Can't ask for equality in everything, but if it's to better oneself, why not allow everyone the opportunity?
I want this reform to past so i can go to college
I support this reform, and i want this reform to be accomplish, because many student like my self are suffering by this terrible laws that U.S government are doing this to students that want to have a dream like me. So i want my dream to be accomplish and i want to be some one in this country.
Please use your legislative power to help young high school students who fall victim to the deportation back to their home countries when their families remain under Visa protection.
The DREAM ACT should pass because it would help alot of people like me that, couldn't go further with my education to actually go further in life and succeed to the max. It is very important to us in order to get ahead without any road big blocks.
Ted Fu also inspired me to sign and support this.
I think that the dream act is very important because it will help make other children's dream of becoming someone important in this country real. This will give many illegal childern many chances of having a bright future. So i think that this program is a new start to our country.
Dream Act needs to be passed as soon as possible. Please let this act pass!!
This is act should be passed! Not only is it economically benficial but its basic logic! Think of it like this. What if your parents told you that you were moving? Even if you didnt want to would you have a choice? Probably not, so why should these youth, my husband included, have to pay for what their parents did? We wouldnt be punished for our parents killing somebody would we? They need to pass this act, like NOW!
We need this Act in order for justice to be done for all Americans.
everyone have a chance to do something with their life rather then get stuck in the middle. They didn't choose this life of getting stuck in the US by choice it was given to them so this should be passed for the less fortunate.
I could not imagine a more reasonable proposal that would enrich this country, which is also quite difficult to abuse.
I am a citizen born and raised here .I no many young teenagers that graduated with my kids last year. That cant plan for the furture. That realy saddins me. This act would be a blessing!!!
This is essential to the future of America. I work in schools where bright children face a horrible future. We need this workforce. Please enact the dream act.
The Dream Act should be passed, there are so many students like myself that need is law to be passed. I'm fortunate to be attending a community college for now, but I don't know for how much longer my parents can help me out, even with loans. The Dream Act, would really help me and others who also came to the US.as children and graduated High School here, finish our careers.
my biggest fear is gradutating because i know that after that happens i have little cahnce of succeeding without a legal status in this country no matter how succesful i am now im high school this would be the biggest help in the world i support the Dream Act.
WE need this law to pass!.. We want to be Americans and be part of this beautiful country
The Dream Act will give me a second chance. I was brought to the United States when I was only 12. I finished high school and attended a community college for two years.. However I had to come back to my home country because I could not afford a 4 year school. This act would give me a chance of going back to the place that I love and cherish.
Pass the Dream Act.. It is a our second chance...
I want earn my dream i need a chance.
Ted Fu inspired me to sign this.
The Dream Act must be passed so that my adopted grandson, Mark, can complete his studies and not have to return to England when he is 21. If this should happen the Dennis family will be split. Steamboat would lose a hard-working consciencious family who give greatly to the community.
My parents brought me to the U.S in 1995 if been here ever since.I love it here and i don't know anything else tgan here,if I was to be taking back to mexico I wouldnt know where to go.I graduated in May of this year and I really wanted to go to college but I can't go because I am illegal,it really breaks my heart when my parents can't do nothing about it
I'm foreign on both sides. I hope this bill passes soon.
I am a junior at CSU Long Beach majoring in Social Work and getting a minor in Psychology. Beside all the stress that school can cause to any college student, my biggest stressor is the current fact that I may not be able to fulfill my dream of working and contributing to my community like everyone else. Despite my fear and anger I will continue to fight for my dream because MY DREAM COUNTS TOO!
I was born in mexico but raised in the usa so i am not just a mexican i am a MEXICAN-AMERICAN.
I support this comprehensive BIll!!
Graduating from high school with honors had given me strong hopes for building my future. For the past three and a half years I have been an "AB540" student at a local community college; completed my GED. Where I stand now, gives me no opportunities to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. The DREAM ACT needs to be passed now! I, and many other "AB540" students need to move on.
I am also the byproduct of this lack of inactivedness. Please help Mr. President. I have a Masters in Education and can not teach due to my lack of a greencard.
Thank you
I am in support of the Dream Act. I was born on the fourth of July, 1993 in the U.S. My brother was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States when he was four months old along with our parents. He and my parents have been on visa's for nineteen years, yet it is still impossible for them acquire citizenship. My brother is nineteen and as it is now, he can not be on our parent’s visa after he turns 21 years. The DREAM Act would allow him and many other kids to have a pathway to become citizens.
We are here to contribute to the united states. all we ask for is an opportunity to demonstrate that we are all Americans who love this country and who just want to be a part of it. we are contributors please give us the opportunity to succed!!
My nephew has lived in the USA since he was 4 months old. He has studied hard at school and is now attending Boulder university on a four year course. Because of the laws of the USA he will have to cut short his course when he is 21 and return to a country he hardly knows, leaving behind his family and not being able to complete his Batchelor degree. Surely the USA should be encouraging young people like Mark to stay in the USA and complete their studies not turning their backs on them. Please let this Dream act proceed and stop splitting families.
To be able to have the persistence required to wait for such a monumental bill is an amazing feat by itself. However, to have that persistence along with the willpower and determination to follow your dreams and never allow others' actions to waver your ultimate decision of becoming successful.... that makes me believe that, one day, the world will be a great place because of these incredible people.
We should have the opportunity to dream of our future like all of our other classmates.
The Dream Act would make the dreams of my sister and family, a reachable goal.
This is one of the most important things that Congress must approve. Some undocumeted immigrants come to the US for a safer life. They want to be a part of society and work for the greater good. Many kids have worked hard through school and as they are ready to graduate they can not continue to higher education.
Please pass the dream act, this is going to revitalize our country
I have worked with many outstanding young people who fall into this category. Many of these are more conscientious and are of moral character than some native young people who take their citizenship for granted. We need Dream Act qualifiers to stay here and share their goodness with America and the world.
i strongly support the DREAM ACT. and I really hope President Obama pass the plan as soon as possible in order to let the country allow any of us being able to go to college for achieving further educations and degrees. so many people like me have been living in the darkness, and we need to see some changes of a new immigration policy. please pass the act.
The gifts that the undocumented immigrants bring to the nation are overwhelmingly greater than the cost that is perceived. We cannot afford keeping a section of our population in the the shadows of ignorance. Education is the key for the success of our state and our nation.
Let the children live their dream. Nothing should stop them from getting a better education.
Please pass the DREAM Act. So many students and young people are living in the shadows, being denied inclusion into society and being punished for the actions of their parents.
DREAM 2010
PASS THE DREAM ACT WE ALL HAVE DREAMS FOR A BETTER FUTURE
i support the dream act because im in love with an immigrant with a dream of one day been able to go to school or to have there papers its not fare for anyone that has been here sense their child hood
we all have a d.r.e.a.m a dream to become and have a better future in this free country that is america land of the free we all have to put our word in everyone deserves an apportunity
This hard working students deserve a better future.
i agree with the dream act!
I am an AB540 college student. Its ready hard for me to go to college, but i am not giving up. I have to work full time so I can pay my rent, car insuranse, gasoline, food and personal stuff. Im taking 9 units per semester, and its hard. but once again I am NOT giving. My major is in Child Development I have been here with my brothers since I was 11, I am 20 years old now. My life is here.
The dream act should be unanimously supported. It is well written, fair, and provides an opportunity for the youth to not only become educated but earn a better life. They would become american citizens both on paper and in terms of education.
We need this dream act to pass and become law, many students that had no choice in their arrival to this country have to do without opportunity. They have become a part of the American society and care more for this country than the one they were brought out of as a child. In most cases America is their country, to send them back to a unknown country they know little about is a tragedy. Especially because they are American as any natural citizen, except they have more adversity and hardship on their plate. Please pass this law!!
