I have just graduated high school (class of 2010) and my parents keep pressuring me to go back to my home country, Brazil. I've been here since I was 12 and I barely speak portuguese anymore. If I was to ever go back, I would have such a hard time. I love it here, and do not want to go back. If this act was ever to be passed, other outstanding students and myself would have the opportunity to start their lives where they have been for a long time. I truly hope this act is passed because it would change my life just like others.

I think that many good people that are undocumented are not given an equal opportunity to educate themselves. How can we hold them responsible as a whole for acting in manners in which we may not dream appropriate when we condemn them. We condemn by not allowing them into our higher education systems without paying exuberant fees. If they had the chance to purse a higher education then we might expose our nation to ideas that never would have been known. I say let's give everyone a chance to experience the freedom to be anything they want and to achieve their fullest potential.

I am a 69 year old citizen born in the USA who has worked with students of all ages for many years. I have watched several undocumented students excell beyone expectations. I hold them up to the students I mentor (usually documented students) as examples of kids who have risen above it all and are proud of the USA and have great hopes. They are productive and need to be given the chance to become productive citizens. They did not commit any crime, and they would have nowhere to go if depoorted.

Please pass this act. This would be a step in the right direction for immigration reform. These kids were not brought to this country on their accord and it would not be "right" to deport them, especially, when for many of them, this is the only country they know.

I believe that the dream act should be passed by congress immediately. I have studied with students and currently know many friends that are studying with great intention and ideas based on the american dream but can not do so because of the lack of structure in immigration. This dream act will help many moral students achieve their success which have been held away from them for many years. Students are the core of our nation and especially those students that actually work hard in their studies.

Every fiber in my body wants this DREAM act to o through- Education is what keeps us together, and pulls us ahead. It breaks my heart to see that being taken away from someone, right in front of them. Education is golden. Something like that should be a right, not a privilage.

Many, if not most of the illegal immigrants here in the United States were brought here as young, innocent children, who were unknowing. They should not be punished for a decision that was completely out of their hands. If the DREAM ACT passes, it would touch and change so many lives. Is it so wrong to want to be given a chance to prove yourself? There are many Americans that take what they have for granted. And what they don't realize is that there are so many people who would give anything, who dream of one day having the the same rights as they do.

How can we proudly call USA the Land of the free when we block from millions of young adults the right of having an education or career? The sons of many immigrants that did not have a choice but to follow their guardians to an unknown land "of opportunities".
Those against this Act have no heart and don't have a clue, how humiliating and devastating it really is for a bright kid to grow under such environment without hope of future.
For the future generations of America pass this bill...

The DREAM Act does not only represent the dream of earning a degree, but it also stands for hope, perseverance and the struggle many students put into their dreams.
It also represents equal opportunities for any one who wants to pursue an education regardless of his/her immigration status in accordance to the federal case Plyler vs. Doe.
I firmly support and advocate for the passage of the Dream Act into law because it's better to provide education to those willing to further their academic pursuits, than to have them roaming the streets and become crime statistics.

I personally work with many families who are caught here out of desperation and now in poverty here! This is because now they can't even find work here and can't scrape enough money together to go back to MX where they have nothing and no family support.

Many of these families have school aged children who were brought here when there was amnesty for their parents. Now, these young people are caught in a limbo of no future in MX or here because they are considered "illegal". This is in spite of the fact that they have received an American education.

Stop this nightmare for these families by passing this law that will bring some compassion to the lives of people who came here on hoping to have a future for their loved ones.

I have been in this great country since 1992 at the young age of 9 years old. This is my home. I have worked here legally, paid all my taxes, and even donated thousands of dollars to the United Way for people that are less fortunate in my community. My parents and only sibling are United States Citizens, and have chosen the legal path to citizenship. I have done the same, and I know that all Americans are in favor of legal citizenship. However, I need to tell you how a flaw in the legal path to citizenship is now affecting my life as I know it. After many years in the proccess, and at the current age of 27 I was forced to refile all of my immigration paperwork because USCIS lost and negelected my file. In August 2009 I refiled under my mother, using form I-130 and Because I am over the age of 21, i am not considered as an immediate family member. Sadly this means that I have to wait an additional 4 years before a visa is available for me. My priority date is August of 2009, and currently the visa dept., is on priority date in 2005 for visas.. As a result, I can not renew my work permit, I have lost my job/career, I am going to lose my house, which I purchased at the age of 22, and I will be homeless, with no way to support myself for the next 4 years.

This act is the last chance I, and thousands of others, have to a normal life. The immigration process is a long one and many can spend years here legally while paperwork is being done, once a decision is finally reached the children have already been living, and growing, in America. To deny us a right to a future is a slap to the face for many of us who feel as American Patriots and are willing to give so much to a country which isn't willing to give us a chance. The dream act is needed for us to serve this great country and ensure the AMERICAN dream lives on.

I have seen so many children in this position : Being brought to this country at a young age, and not having a say in wether or not they believed it was a good idea or not. Yet, regardless of anything they had to say or could have said, they are here in the US, going to school, doing well, working hard and living a day to day worry that they could be deported to a country they cannot remember or to a place where they have no one. This is America, isn't it? The land of the FREE? There have to be exceptions to these rules and I refuse to see another child, teenager and young adult be left behind because of a mistake or decision that was out of their hands, putting them in a long term struggle in the United States. Please, understand and imagine if your own children were in that situation and really see how this affects the families and mental well being of these children. It is time to make a stand and I will proudly take part in it!

When I find out that they're "aliens" or as I call them, unequal citizens. I want to be an officer in the U.S. military, and so does he. However, I have the key to be an officer, SSN, he does not. It kills me deep inside to know that my friend cannot be what he wants to be just because he does not have those golden nine digits. Let the children live their dream. Nothing should stop them from getting a better education.

Please pass the DREAM Act. So many students and young people are living in the shadows, being denied inclusion into society and being punished for the actions of their parents.

The dream act should be unanimously supported. It is well written, fair, and provides an opportunity for the youth to not only become educated but earn a better life. They would become american citizens both on paper and in terms of education.

PLEASE PASS THE DREAM ACT! I JUST GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL WITH HONORS AND I CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE OF MY STATUS! I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE I WAS 5 YEARS OLD, SO I'VE BEEN LIVING HERE FOR 13 YEARS AND NOW THAT I AM OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL, I CAN'T GET MY DREAM CAREER OR GET ANY OF MY DREAMS ACCOMPLISHED! I SPEAK 3 LANGUAGES, A WHIZ AT WRITING AND READING AND I WANT TO BECOME A TEACHER OR A WRITER BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE OF THE STUPID PAPERS... SOME SAY THAT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS SHOULDN'T GET PAPERS BUT WHAT US YOUNG ADULTS WHO WERE TAKEN HERE BY KIDS HAVE TO PAY FOR WHAT OUR PARENTS DECIDED TO DO? IT'S NOT FAIR! I AM 100% LIBERAL AND I BELIEVE IT'S TIME FOR US EDUCATED PEOPLE TO GET WHAT WE DESERVE!

It is a shame that AMERICA will not give students the opportunity to prove their skills and ambitions because of their legal status. Many of these students have lived in the U.S. their entire life and have been living the American lifestyle. So why not give those who want a future, the chance to prove that they can too be someone in life one day? We all share this world and we should all be treated equally with no judgements and restrictions. The Dream Act should be passed!!!!!!

It's time to pass this needed bill in Congress and for it to be signed by the president. These young people should be allowed to finish their education and become citizens of our great country. These are law-abiding students doing the right thing. they want to make their way in our society and they have earned that right. The law needs to be passed as soon as possible. This is what our country was founded on. Freedom.

It is a shame that illegals crossing the border (can't call them immigrants) are treated with more respect than those whom have abided by all of our visa requirements for years and are prevented citizenship in this country. Martin and Alison Dennis have made significant contributions to this town of Steamboat Springs, the state of Colorado and this country of ours. Hopefully, the bipartisan effort to pass the Dream act will become a reality for this wonderful family.
