I support the dream act because i believe doors shouldn't to closed on students who want to persue their dreams for a future. I believe every child should have the opportunity to persue a career and be all they can be. Everyone should attempt to reach their maximum potential and be self-actualized where-ever they are at. However, one of the reasons why many immigrant families like my own come to this country is to look for opportunities that they don't have else where. Therefore, I will never understand why dreams and aspirations are shattered by unjust and heart-breaking rules in this land of the free. It's disappointing to me to see black spots in the perfect picture of the America that i as a child had painted. It's heart-breaking to expect so much from something esteemed and stay waiting for a no show or til later.

I support this dream act. And i prayerfully want the undocumented students to find the true comfort and hope in God who gave the way of getting the heavenly citizenship (which is much much better than U.S. citizenship) through believing in Jesus Christ.

I think if the dream act really one day passed, it would make a big difference in the United states because there is a huge population of immigrants students.That had came to this country and get a better education for their future, but they can not continue with their education because they don't have a enough money to pay their college or they suffer to find a job that they had study for. i came to this country at the age of 6. my sister and i were brought here by my aunt. my mother came months later. we were brought here for a better life, my dad used to beat my mother and my sister and i were witnesses. for as long as i could remember all i ever wanted to be was a doctor. Iam now 17 years old i am a senior with excellent grades always been on the honor roll. im even in a special program at school because of my good grades. yet all my hard work was in vain, because i cant attend college. my family and i just dont have enough money.i cant even work or drive. And this is my only hope. i want to be someone. i want everyone's wishes in my shoes to come true i now see that i am not the only one. someone else feel how i feel. we deserve an opprtunity at least some type of help for us. PLEASE PASS THE DREAM ACT! (its all the hope i have).
I think this is a great organization. I would really like this country to approve the act because millions of students would benefit from it.I dont think it is the childs fault that their parents brought them illegaly to the us. Why should they pay for the parents wrong doing. I have friends who day by day work hard to help their family, but at the same time they are committed students who want to success in their careers and have a bright future. We see them around us, in our high schools or in college, but only a few people know their legal situation in this country. Some day they will be our future doctors, nurses, business administrators, politicians, lawyers and so on. With the dream act we will be able to give them a better future and, for instance, create a better future for us and our future families.

The DREAM ACT is the only hope many of us have at a way for citizenship. We need to get together and do something. There is nothing worse than seeing your dreams practically get snatched from you. We need to make this Act pass! We are living in a country that is not our "home". We are amongst friends that will never truly understand our situation, as most of them are citizens. And until we make our voices heard, we will not see changes. Stand up for what you believe in!
It is important for individuals, who were brought here as children, to have the opportunity to become legal citizens. By limiting their ability to continue their education, work and pay taxes legally, or serve in the military, we are losing a valuable group of potential citizens. Most of these young people have no connection to their country of origin. Their lives are in the United States and they should be given the chance to earn citizenship.
I was brought here from Mexico when i was about a year old and I am undocumented. I am a sophomore in high school and ever since I started high school I always dreamed of pursuing a higher education but I can't. I also want to get my learners permit but since I am undocumented I can't get it cause they want a SSN. All my friends can drive except for me and I feel left out. I lived in the US for 15 years now, I grew up in the country and most of my friends are rednecks, I have a slight country accent, and I am undocumented. How nice. I feel like an American, but then I realize im not and that just hurts me.
I came here from Mexico in 1996 when I was only 5 years old, therefore, I am undocumented. I have attended school in America all my life and hope to purse a degree in Biology. I'm a senior this year and I am proud to say I have been in the top ten of my class throughout my high school career. My dream is to have the Dream Act passed which will allow millions of students across the nation and me to receive financial aid and work in our professional field. We, the students, are a great asset to this country and we can contribute tremendously during our time. Support the Dream Act and spread the word. Together we CAN accomplish our plea.

i want to show my support for the dream act. i finished my community college. im applying to george mason and virginia tech. but its so hard because im an undocumented student. i have a 3.953 GPA. it doesnt matter because they only want a SSN. this act would help me a lot. for the past four semester i have work full time and gone to sleep full time. i am tired but nothing seems to change. support us

I came to the US when I was 10 years old. I graduated form highschool in 2003 on the top of my class. I could have gone to any college I wanted to go to in Texas but was not eligible to get scholarships so I had to go to a community college and then transfer to a university that was less expensive then others in the area. I was blessed that my dad was able to put me through school and that my school couselor found out about HB 1403 in Texas that allowed me go to college here legaly. I recently graduated this December 2009 form nursing school with a BSN. I got offered a few jobs because there is such a big demand for nurses who are bilingual. However, when I spoke to a lawyer about having a hospital petition for me she said that I would be banned by immigration for beign here illegally. Its frustrating that even when you try to do things right the US laws are so contradictory that there is not much that we can do to make our dreams come true. At 10 years old there wasn't much I knew about my legal status. Come to find out now my parents came to this country so I could have a better future but that has not happened. I wish congressman knew how hard it is for young peple like us to give up our dreams.
I came to the U.S when i was Eleven years old, now i am in my senior year and i have seen how most of my friends are applying to colleges and scholarships, its really sad that i am not able. I have been studying hard hoping that i would have been able to get a scholarship, but its shocking when i see the applications and most say you have to be a legal resident. The DREAM Act would change the lives of many, it is necssary for it to pass.
I graduated June, 17th 2008 from High School. My dream is finish my college and be a nurse.
In regards to this issue i myself have seen how my cousins have suffered being in the great US. since a couple of months old finished school and some college and have worked hard to just make barely in lfe altogether, actualy my cousin was in the state of california's adoption system for years maybe 10 but they forgot about him anyway its not fair for him and should never have happened espcially when he was an infant tell me did he have a choice then.
I've been here since I was 2. I'll be 25 soon. I would love to have the opportunity to attend college because till this day, I have not been allowed to.

I could not imagine a more reasonable proposal that would enrich this country, which is also quite difficult to abuse.
I am a citizen born and raised here .I no many young teenagers that graduated with my kids last year. That cant plan for the furture. That realy saddins me. This act would be a blessing!!!

I'm fortunate to be attending a community college for now, but I don't know for how much longer my parents can help me out, even with loans. The Dream Act must be passed so that my adopted grandson, Mark, can complete his studies and not have to return to England when he is 21. If this should happen the Dennis family will be split. Steamboat would lose a hard-working consciencious family who give greatly to the community.

Beside all the stress that school can cause to any college student, my biggest stressor is the current fact that I may not be able to fulfill my dream of working and contributing to my community like everyone else. Graduating from high school with honors had given me strong hopes for building my future. For the past three and a half years I have been an "AB540" student at a local community college; completed my GED. Where I stand now, gives me no opportunities to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. The DREAM ACT needs to be passed now! I, and many other "AB540" students need to move on.
I am also the byproduct of this lack of inactivedness. Please help Mr. President. I have a Masters in Education and can not teach due to my lack of a greencard.

I am in support of the Dream Act. I was born on the fourth of July, 1993 in the U.S. My brother was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States when he was four months old along with our parents. He and my parents have been on visa's for nineteen years, yet it is still impossible for them acquire citizenship. My brother is nineteen and as it is now, he can not be on our parent’s visa after he turns 21 years. The DREAM Act would allow him and many other kids to have a pathway to become citizens.
We are here to contribute to the united states. all we ask for is an opportunity to demonstrate that we are all Americans who love this country and who just want to be a part of it. we are contributors please give us the opportunity to succed!!
My nephew has lived in the USA since he was 4 months old. He has studied hard at school and is now attending Boulder university on a four year course. Because of the laws of the USA he will have to cut short his course when he is 21 and return to a country he hardly knows,leaving behind his family and not being able to complete his Batchelor degree. Surely the USA should be encouraging young people like Mark to stay in the USA and complete their studies not turning their backs on them. Please let this Dream act proceed and stop splitting families.
To be able to have the persistence required to wait for such a monumental bill is an amazing feat by itself. However, to have that persistence along with the willpower and determination to follow your dreams and never allow others' actions to waver your ultimate decision of becoming successful.... that makes me believe that, one day, the world will be a great place because of these incredible people.

This is one of the most important things that Congress must approve. Some undocumeted immigrants come to the US for a safer life. They want to be a part of society and work for the greater good. I have worked with many outstanding young people who fall into this category. Many of these are more conscientious and are of moral character than some native young people who take their citizenship for granted. We need Dream Act qualifiers to stay here and share their goodness with America and the world.

I am an AB540 college student.Its ready hard for me to go to college, but i am not giving up. I have to work full time so I can pay my rent, car insuranse, gasoline, food and personal stuff. Im taking 9 units per semester, and its hard. but once again I am NOT giving. My major is in Child Development I have been here with my brothers since I was 11, I am 20 years old now. My life is here.
The dream act should be unanimously supported. It is well written, fair, and provides an opportunity for the youth to not only become educated but earn a better life. They would become american citizens both on paper and in terms of education.

It is a shame that AMERICA will not give students the opportunity to prove their skills and ambitions because of their legal status. Many of these students have lived in the U.S. their entire life and have been living the American lifestyle. So why not give those who want a future, the chance to prove that they can too be someone in life one day? We all share this world and we should all be treated equally with no judgements and restrictions. The Dream Act should be passed!!!!!!
It's time to pass this needed bill in Congress and for it to be signed by the president. These young people should be allowed to finish their education and become citizens of our great country. These are law-abiding students doing the right thing. they want to make their way in our society and they have earned that right. The law needs to be passed as soon as possible. It is a shame that illegals crossing the border (can't call them immigrants) are treated with more respect than those whom have abided by all of our visa requirements for years and are prevented citizenship in this country. Martin and Alison Dennis have made significant contributions to this town of Steamboat Springs, the state of Colorado and this country of ours. Hopefully, the bipartisan effort to pass the Dream act will become a reality for this wonderful family.

The dream Act must be passed to allow my grandson and others like him who came to the United States legally as infants and were brought up as loyal American citizens for a number of years to remain with their families in the United States and provide the dedication and skill required to build the great nation.
Students who have been here since they were children don't deserve to be deported back to their original country. If they have proved to be law abiding people and show that they have something to offer by graduating high school and wanting a higher education then they should be allowed to stay legally in the country which they are used to calling Home.
First of all, I am so grateful my grandparents decided to legally immigrate to this country at the turn of the 20th Century. I love America dearly. The vision of our forefathers had when creating this country has shaped a better world for all of humanity, which is why the USA is such a desirable country to live. The dream the Dennis’ have for living in America is nothing different than the dream my grandparents had over a century ago. However, the Dennis’ have proven before obtaining citizenship, to be valuable assets to this country. I must commend Martin and Alison for the standards they have set in our community, the way they have raised their children, and the ethical way they have conducted their business practices. I find it a true shame if DREAM Act was not passed and the United States of America would lose an opportunity to have their son, as well as other young adults in similar situations, become an American citizen.

My parents brought me to the U.S as a child by the age of one. I basically graduated from home schooling, Kindergarten, Middle school and with honors I graduated High School in 2007. I honestly think that it will only be fair if we get helped to pursue our dream career through the DREAM ACT. By doing so this will not only benefit me but to everyone with a similar situation.
