I was brought here when I was 5 years old. I am now a senior in high school and I would like to pursue a career in the medical field. But without the DREAM ACT it is going to be very difficult. I might have to go to Mexico, to a country which I almost don't know, to study there. I wish I could study here, and work here. It would be a benefit not only for me, but for this country too. I encourage everyone to keep pushing for the Act to pass, so that we can all benefit from it.

It is disappointing and very frustrating that this country would allow innocent children to suffer. By not allowing the Dream Act pass, this country is permanently damaging the lives of these innocent children. Their dreams, futures shut down. By no fault of theirs these children are experiencing entrapment, this country is robbing them from flourishing properly, this country is robbing them at a chance to sincerely succeed. Beside being the land of opportunity I always thought we were a compassionate country .... isn't that supposedly many times the reason we always go to war? to the rescue of others??? Well, what about the rescue of our innocent children in this country, don't they count??? By not allowing the Dream Act pass we prevent them to be an asset to this land. Instead, we instigate them to become criminals; forge documents, falsify ID, or worse, only so they can survive, or move forward with their lives the best way they can. In many cases this country is all they know. If you were to send them back to "their Country" they would not speak or write the language in addition many of them have no family. If we do not pass the Dream Act, how inhumane!

I was brought here when I was 5 years old. I'm in my Senior year and my friends are excited about going to collage and going to the Army, When they ask me what I'm going to do I tell them that I might go to Mexico and visit relatives. I want to be a Police Officer here in the United States I'm so used to America sometimes I feel depressed because I was brought here, witnessed whats possible how wonderful it is here but not being able to live free. Recently our school outreach worker called a meeting for Latino Senior students and told us about this Dream Act, I feel more motivated to graduate and become successful.

It is essential to the future of California and other states with large numbers of undocumented workers that their children who have lived their whole lives in this country be afforded the ability to advance themselves, live productive lives and be able to move toward citizenship.

It is essential for our future, and it is also essential for these young people who bear no responsibility in their undocumented status, whose parents keep our economies going, especially in a state like mine, California.

It amazes me that people pledge allegiance to a flag which stands for "liberty and justice for all". I cannot recall the last time that phrase was honored in this country. America is known as a melting pot, a land of immigrants, yet they want to throw out the very backbone of our country. We must bring back the ideals of "the land of the free".

I first became aware of this problem after reading Paul Cuadros' book, A Home on the Field. It stuns me that bright, young men and women could be hindered from going to college after being raised for years as Americans and after attending school beside other's whose only difference is really luck...the luck of being born on this side of the border.

My parents have spent over $40,000 dollars with lawyers expenses and the fees to put in applications for residency that don't not even guaranteed acceptance. I came to the U.S. when i was 10 yrs old. I was legal here because my parents had work visas however, you can only live here legally with a work visa for six years then you have to apply for residency, except most of the time they will deny residency to the applicants. Six years is enough time for you to establish a life. I was in high school, we had bought a house, my whole life was here, no one wanted to leave. So we applied again for residency and were again denied. my parents left, but how was i supposed to live in Brazil when i had a such limited knowledge in Portuguese and was soon starting college here? i decided to stay here with my older brother and am currently going to college and praying that this DREAM Act is passed.

I think this would be an incredible advancement in America. I know many students who work hard and deserve to stay and work here. After all, it was not their choice to move here and their parents might have made mistakes regarding their paperwork. Why should any educated, hard-working, good-willed person be forced to leave our country??

The USA needs an immigration overhaul that would include a path to legal status for people in the United States illegally. They do our work, make our beds, watch our children, clean our yards and pick our food. Many are building our homes, shopping centers and roads. This is the time to recognize all people in the Greatest Country - USA!

He was deported, we married and have lived in Mexico for the past 12 years. He is now an Engineer, (mechanical and electrical), graduated from one of the best schools in latin america (The Tec of Monterrey, ITESM).

The US is missing out on all of the talent and potential this young professional has to offer...and hundreds of thousands like him, by denying them citizenship, punishing them for immigration crimes that were not their decisions to make, but they make the most of where they are.

STOP THE WASTE OF TALENT and EAGERNESS TO SUCCEED.
THE US NEEDS THIS BILL.

i came to the US when i was 14. i am now 22 years old, and have been waiting for the chance to acquire higher education for almost 4 years. it's is my dream to study here, and continue my life as part of this country. I think that the importance of the dream act becoming a reality is immense, and would be forever grateful for the chance to study and better myself, for it has always been a dream of mine. Becoming somebody, someone that contributes to world, and the progress of our society as a whole in a bigger manner than cleaning people's houses or building homes for the rich.
These were some of my previous occupations as i stand to make an honest living. But not all people are the same as me. It's hard for some to stay on a solid path when they know it leads to nothing, which either drives them to live here abusing the rights this country provides, by either not paying any taxes therefore not contributing to the country's prosperity or even worse resorting to crime.

It is not the fairest of realities but also not the easiest of the decisions. But i'm sure this point has been made many times before. We were only children when we came here. I do not blame my parents for bringing me in any way. I have a good life, but as good as it is, it is also directionless.

So please, Make this happen.

For me, for all of us in the same condition as mine.

Sincerely, Guilherme Paulo

Many of these students have lived in the U.S. their entire life and have been living the American lifestyle. So why not give those who want a future, the chance to prove that they can too be someone in life one day? We all share this world and we should all be treated equally with no judgements and restrictions. The Dream Act should be passed!!!!!!

It's time to pass this needed bill in Congress and for it to be signed by the president. These young people should be allowed to finish their education and become citizens of our great country. These are law-abiding students doing the right thing. they want to make their way in our society and they have earned that right. The law needs to be passed as soon as possible. This is what our country was founded on. Freedom.

It is a shame that illegals crossing the border (can't call them immigrants) are treated with more respect than those whom have abided by all of our visa requirements for years and are prevented citizenship in this country. Martin and Alison Dennis have made significant contributions to this town of Steamboat Springs, the state of Colorado and this country of ours. Hopefully, the bipartisan effort to pass the Dream act will become a reality for this wonderful family.

The dream Act must be passed to allow my grandson and others like him who came to the United States legally as infants and were brought up as loyal American citizens for a number of years to remain with their families in the United States and provide the dedication and skill required to build the great nation.

Students who have been here since they were children don't deserve to be deported back to their original country. If they have proved to be law abiding people and show that they have something to offer by graduating high school and wanting a higher education then they should be allowed to stay legally in the country which they are used to calling Home.

First of all, I am so grateful my grandparents decided to legally immigrate to this country at the turn of the 20th Century. I love America dearly. The vision of our forefathers had when creating this country has shaped a better world for all of humanity, which is why the USA is such a desirable country to live. The dream the Dennis’ have for living in America is nothing different than the dream my grandparents had over a century ago. However, the Dennis’ have proven before obtaining citizenship, to be valuable assets to this country. I must commend Martin and Alison for the standards they have set in our community, the way they have raised their children, and the ethical way they have conducted their business practices. I find it a true shame if DREAM Act was not passed and the United States of America would lose an opportunity to have their son, as well as other young adults in similar situations, become an American citizen.

The Dream Act should be passed. It is affecting young adults that have been raised in the United States and will not be allowed to continue their higher education if The Dream Act is not passed. Thank-you

It is ridiculous that the congress has not passed this bill yet. It is past time for them to act!

THE TIME HAS COME... LET US PROVE THAT WE ARE CAPABLE OF GIVING BACK TO THE COUNTRY THAT GAVE US EVERYTHING. WE CAN NOT ENJOY THE FREEDOM THAT YOU TAUGHT US!, WE NEED LEGAL DOCUMENTS IN ORDER TO PROGRESS AND EXPAND AS HUMAN BEINGS! LET OUR VOICE BE HEARD! LET OUR HANDS DO THE JOBS YOUR CITIZENS REFUSE! BUT LET US DO IT THE LEGAL WAY! LET US LIVE WITHOUT THE "IRRUGULARITY" BANNER ACROSS OUR FOREHEADS!

The Dream Act should be passed all we are looking for is to have a better live than aour parents becuase we can see the consequences of not having an education. No one should be hold back from making their dream come true. Education should be a right for everyone not just certain people.

I think that deep soul-searching is in order here. We are a country of immigrants and a great many of us have successed in fulfilling the "American Dream". Here is our chance to tap-in to vital intelletual resources that are desperately needed in this country. If one looks back at history to check the national origins of many of our great contributors to our society, it would indeed be very difficult to find on that was not from immigrant parents or family. Many families have sacrificed much to get thier children educated in this country. It is a true privilege to accomplish this goal. If we do not act on thier behalf, we are the ones to suffer.

There is a need for change in our laws. Please do so and allow thousands of students to live a fair life.
