Make our dream come true, pass the DREAM ACT,we are here to give, not to take away. Give us the opportunity to be free and DREAM.
PASS THE DREAM ACT!
What is the real meaning of being American? The answer to that is that there is no real American, we've all come from different parts, USA was built up on immigrants, than why should we fight for something which is already ours? It wasn't my fault i was brought to this nation, but since the past 9 years i learned to love this nation and embrace it, now its time for this nation to LOVE US AND EMBRACE US!!
I understand that the immigration issues that troubles this country is of serious concern to citizens and immigrants alike, but it is time to take a small step to tackle this problems once and for all. The Dream Act is a great solution to lift the barrier for so many students living in this nation who are simply trying to achieve the American dream (which still exists). Please support this movement and let's hope the U.S. Congress passes this bill into law as soon as possible!
hi my name is luis last year our president of the united states came to my city pomona ca passed threw my street i was so happy,y u ask because he also had a dream just like us he struggle and wen others said no he said yes.if he didn't give up y should we.i do not know about others cities but in mine most of us that fallow him are students and like me are immigrants.the name says it all,,,,,,,,,,,DREAM ACT
Hello, I am a member of an organization named, D.A.L.E., DePaul Alliance for Latino Empowerment, at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. I just wanted to let you guys know that we definitely support the DREAM ACT and we are willing to work with you guys in any future events.
I will definitely support this.
Dream Act! Make it Happen this year! 2010
Please pass this bill. Give children the future they deserve. America is the land of freedom and opportunity. That would be such a chance for people that were unwillingly brought to the us without any of their own consent.
I support the Dream Act, and wanted it to be passed by CONGRESS before the end of the year.
WE NEED THE DREAM ACT! PLEASE CONSIDER BRILLIANT STUDENTS WAITING TO ATTEND COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES THAT NEED THEM. WE ARE PATIENTLY WAITING FOR THIS PETITION TO BE APROVED.
OBAMA AND UNITED STATES WE ARE AMERICANS AS WELL WANTING TO DO AND ACHIEVE THE BEST FOR OUR FUTURE AND AMERICA'S FUTURE.
As a teacher, I firmly believe that education is the key to a successful and healthy life, community, and country. The DREAM Act will strengthen the United States. For many of our students, it was not their choice to be undocumented, but it is their life. They want and are willing to work hard to achieve high levels of education and be community leaders. Even at the elementary level, students fear that they will never be able to fully achieve their dreams.
It's unconscionable that these young people are being deported. Please stop this despicable practice. We need the strength of diversity these young adults offer.
Hi, this year i will be a Junior in High School in a little town close to Wichita Falls, Tx. My dream and Goal is to become a Pediatric, having good grades and being a good student, the only problem would be that i'm not a citizen. I was brought over to the United Stated when i was 2 years old and have been here ever since, but unfortunately i have to return to my country to follow my dream after i finish high school. I really hope that this Dream Act will go through so i can stay here with my family and not have to leave them behind and be able to continue my dream.
i hope for this act to be passed so young people can have more opportunities to reach their goals and not have their dreams stopped.
Please support the dream act to help save undocumented teens future
I definitely support the DREAM ACT, and I strongly belive that it will pass very soon. Many students graduate high school with many dreams, but find themselves stuck when they get to college. being an undocument college student is one of the hardest struggles we have to face. senators who have not yet cosponsor the DREAM ACT need to know how hard it is to know that maybe your dream will not be accomplish because you dont have documents.the dream act will be pass, i strongly belive it will..keep on praying
Please pass the DREAM ACT its time to give an opportunity to those of us who want to be professionals and contribute to the grow this beautiful country thanks.
Young children who were brought to the US illegally, are being punished for the rest of their lives for no fault of theirs. It is high time America rectifed this gross injustice to younsters who are only trying to make a good life for themselves. Pass the Dream Act as quickly as possible and do the right thing.
Hi, I'm about to be a senior at Fort White High School. I'm currently the number 1 student in my graduating class, and therefore I will be valedictorian. The only problem is, I'm not a citizen. I came here with my parents when I was 9 [8 years ago], but we overstayed our visa. So now, i don't know if I can continue my education. I would love to be able to go to college, but I can't afford it. Thank you.
I definitely support Dream Act. Dream Act is the only hope for many students who have a bright future ahead of them.. of us! There are many students out there who needs a piece of document to prove that they exist. They cannot return to their home country; rather United States became their country. Everyone support Dream Act! It is not just for illegal immigrants but it is a future, a hope for United States too!
Its time to make a change.
I hope and pray to God it passes!
PLEASE PASS THE DREAM ACT
Please support the Dream Act. This will help the economy, as well many students that want to help grow this country with more professional employees. Also, this will prevent students to do robery, and other crimes. Remember that this studens are the future!!!!
We need to help undocumented students become documented and also to achieve the higher education goals and dreams they aspire to. These bright and motivated young people are an incredible asset for our country and we should not squander this invaluable resource. Not to mention the importance of educational opportunities for undocumented young adults as a crucial social justice issue.
Thank you,
David A. Waters, M.D.
Know someone who has been in the states for 26 years and needs to desperately resolved their immigration status. Are there free Universities that can allow her to register for Online classes and qualify for this act in teh event it passes?
The dream act would make so many dreams come true.
I am a recent highschool graduate, and I am unable to continue studying because I am an immigrant. I have lived here ten out of 18 years of my life.l longer than I lived In my born country. If this act were to be passed me and my three older sisters would all be able to pursue our dreams and go to college!
PASS THE DREAM ACT!
The time is now, I can feel it. Our government has to do what it has to do in order to keep our land secure. I’ll be 35 years old next week and as an illegal immigrant in the USA for 20 years coming from Colombia, I’m very pleased with the opportunity of being here. If I could get a legal status in this country, I’d be able to serve this great nation better. Thank you USA and DREAMERS. There are people who want to do the right thing and passing the Dream Act Law is the right thing to do.
I am a high school teacher, and the fact that I can't tell my students who have lived here their whole lives to work hard and they will be successful is tragic. Many of my Mexican students are hardworking; they should not be subjugated due to their parents decisions. I wholeheartedly support the Dream Act. I have many students who are legal citizens, yet who take their educations for granted. It's really not fair. I am very proud of my students who have overcome language barriers and are grateful for their educations.
pASS THIS LAW NOW!!!
cALIFORNIA AND THE NATION NEED EDUCATED PEOPLE.
To see, year after year, wonderful students and valuable community members find themselves at literal dead ends is heartbreaking. Can we please develop some rational policy to give these young people a road to productive participation in our society!
If this law went through, it will definetly help alot of the students to establish their life in the United States. Since this has been their home for few years now, they will feel odd and out if they had to go back to their home country. Please help those people to accomplish their dream and help The united States.
Everyone should be entitled to an education and a successful career. It is only fair that those students who have worked so hard to obtain a degree, certificate and career should be able to exercise that career. I have a very special person in my life who is facing a lot of struggle much like a lot of other students because she has to pay more than a resident or citizen student. She comes from a single parent home and receives no government support. Despite the odds she volunteers her time at animal shelters and animal hospitals because she hopes to one day become a veterinarian. Lets make the DREAM Act happen so that the goals, dreams and aspirations she has and students like her have can become a reality.
Everyone deserves a chance its time we get ours...passing the DREAM act will help many young students, including me, to reach their highest potential and earn a life they deserve.
I'm in need of the dream act because I want to go back to school, recently I applied to take the ged class but couldn't sign in because I don't have a social security number, that is so unfair I really want to study and success in life.I think that it's time to change,we all deserve a better tomorrow!!
It not fair that these kids get dragged her by their parents and have to then be treated as a criminal.
I had to stop going to UC Riverside a year ago because my parents couldn't afford to keep me in a University. I need to Dream Act to transfer out of Community College and continue my education back at a University.
Im in UC Berkeley and Im applying to Harvard. I need the dream act to pass. Im pursuing medicine and will become a cancer surgeon.
Its time for a change in this country. If this law passes it would change manny students life. It will give them a chance to expand their education higher than high school.
I'm a illegal immigrant in this country,I just start college but is so much money, the is really hard for me to keep up, the dream act will be a great opportunity for me to become a dentist.
I have a person that I love that was brought here by his parents so that he could have a better life. He graduated high school, did very well and has been working helping to support his family as long as he has been able to. Please, he has been here for 21 years of his 22 year life and deserves to continue to be here but with protection and acceptance as any other American that has lived here for 21 years. He has aspirations to go to college, become a chef and make a great life here taking care of himself. He is a genuinely good person deep in his heart. Please let him and all of the other young people just like him stay and have a happy, fulfilling life.
The numbers of overwhelming, we need change now and more than ever. Every year thousands of undocumented students are left in the semidarkness; not knowing where to proceed or what to do in a country we call HOME, a country that limits our daily function as a provisional member of society.Regardless of our immigration status, we are productive members of society. We can't possibly let all this talent and admirable characteristics go to waste, where they can be utilized in an effort to create a better place to grow and develop. We too feel more American that ever, we desperately want to embrace the privileged of being called an American, an American who has earned that title in every way. It's time to break the silence and open a door of prosperity and not a door of apprehension.
The children, whom I know and who have illegal immigrant parents, are some of our most successful high school and college graduates. They are an American asset which we cannot afford to lose. Not only do they contribute to the success of the American way of life, but their original countrymen learn that, in the USA, individual effort can bring good results. Please award them citizenship.
im graduating this year and this dream act would help me be what i want to be and continue my education after high school
help students
In the absence of comprehensive immigration reform, this is an important first step to enabling young adults, who, through no fault of their own, are not legal residents of the US, to pursue their dreams of life, education and work in the United States.
Please pass the Dream Act. It has the potential to positively change a lot of lives.
I am 30 years old, and the dream act would finally complete me. The sorrow and depression of being undocumented can only be understood by people that are going through the same, and to a certain extent by their documented family members. We still have to eat, we still have to pay rent and even taxes. I have to feed my children and make a living somehow. I want to be an equal participant of this society. I'm not asking for a handout or for pity, but instead for fairness and acceptance.
Our founding fathers would have found it incomprehensible that anyone would oppose this legislation. To consider that someone would put their life on the line as a member of the military without a path to citizenship absolutely shows no gratitude for the sacrifice they are willing to put forth. Opposition to the Dream Act goes against the grain of the "give me your poor, your hungry, thirsting to be free" sentiment that once offered a path forward for hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Europe and other foreign countries. The story hasn't changed from the early 1900's. But now, the immigrants are from other places, but with the same thirst. Most of the young people who this bill applies to did not come here of their own volition, they came with their parents. They have lived along side of us, as part of us, and have been collectively raised by us as our children. They are, in effect, ours, and we have no other honor bound responsibility but to embrace them as our own, and march to the future as a family. My distant ancestors came here as what would now be considered illegal aliens. To deny these children, would be to deny our own ancestors. We weren't turned away. These children should likewise be accepted in the same way. William McCown
This is a chance for young kids to prove to themselves to the world that they can do it! this is not about where you are from or where you were born, its about the drive that these kids have! to do what they want to do to be succesful in their lives. WE want to be better people and the Dream Act will help us in realizing the potentional we have!
I believe that students who have grown up here in the USA should be given a chance to become citizens, provided that they are in good standing, and want to become integrated as Americans, and not as "foreign national" living in America.
My hope is that this bill will give that opportunity to these young people
The youth of illegal immigrants are victims or circumstance and should not be punished for the actions of their parents. They had no choice...let's give them a chance!
I support this act for all the people who had no choice in their future. Even though it doesn't seem to directly effect me, it could give my boyfriend the chance to go to college, support me and a family, and live his dreams. I believe it will be a great change and opportunity for the US!
I want the DREAM ACT to pass because I want to go to college and become someone in life.
I will keep praying that our God will show us once again his power in this situation and that he will touch the hearts of the Senators and Leaders so that they may pass the Dream Act because it will help thousands of great students with high GPA get into college, so that they may pursuit their dreams and aspirations. Many of these students want to benefit the US with their knowledge, but cannot because of the immigration rules and guidelines.
I know that the best is yet to come for all those who are waiting for this miracle.
The day the DREAM Act is passed is the day all will rejoice. Can't ask for equality in everything, but if it's to better oneself, why not allow everyone the opportunity?
I want this reform to past so i can go to college
I support this reform, and i want this reform to be accomplish, because many student like my self are suffering by this terrible laws that U.S government are doing this to students that want to have a dream like me. So i want my dream to be accomplish and i want to be some one in this country.
Please use your legislative power to help young high school students who fall victim to the deportation back to their home countries when their families remain under Visa protection.
The DREAM ACT should pass because it would help alot of people like me that, couldn't go further with my education to actually go further in life and succeed to the max. It is very important to us in order to get ahead without any road big blocks.
Ted Fu also inspired me to sign and support this.
I think that the dream act is very important because it will help make other children's dream of becoming someone important in this country real. This will give many illegal childern many chances of having a bright future. So i think that this program is a new start to our country.
Dream Act needs to be passed as soon as possible. Please let this act pass!!
This is act should be passed! Not only is it economically benficial but its basic logic! Think of it like this. What if your parents told you that you were moving? Even if you didnt want to would you have a choice? Probably not, so why should these youth, my husband included, have to pay for what their parents did? We wouldnt be punished for our parents killing somebody would we? They need to pass this act, like NOW!
We need this Act in order for justice to be done for all Americans.
everyone have a chance to do something with their life rather then get stuck in the middle. They didn't choose this life of getting stuck in the US by choice it was given to them so this should be passed for the less fortunate.
I could not imagine a more reasonable proposal that would enrich this country, which is also quite difficult to abuse.
I am a citizen born and raised here .I no many young teenagers that graduated with my kids last year. That cant plan for the furture. That realy saddins me. This act would be a blessing!!!
This is essential to the future of America. I work in schools where bright children face a horrible future. We need this workforce. Please enact the dream act.
The Dream Act should be passed, there are so many students like myself that need is law to be passed. I'm fortunate to be attending a community college for now, but I don't know for how much longer my parents can help me out, even with loans. The Dream Act, would really help me and others who also came to the US.as children and graduated High School here, finish our careers.
my biggest fear is gradutating because i know that after that happens i have little cahnce of succeeding without a legal status in this country no matter how succesful i am now im high school this would be the biggest help in the world i support the Dream Act.
WE need this law to pass!.. We want to be Americans and be part of this beautiful country
The Dream Act will give me a second chance. I was brought to the United States when I was only 12. I finished high school and attended a community college for two years.. However I had to come back to my home country because I could not afford a 4 year school. This act would give me a chance of going back to the place that I love and cherish.
Pass the Dream Act.. It is a our second chance...
I want earn my dream i need a chance.
Ted Fu inspired me to sign this.
The Dream Act must be passed so that my adopted grandson, Mark, can complete his studies and not have to return to England when he is 21. If this should happen the Dennis family will be split. Steamboat would lose a hard-working consciencious family who give greatly to the community.
My parents brought me to the U.S in 1995 if been here ever since.I love it here and i don't know anything else tgan here,if I was to be taking back to mexico I wouldnt know where to go.I graduated in May of this year and I really wanted to go to college but I can't go because I am illegal,it really breaks my heart when my parents can't do nothing about it
I'm foreign on both sides. I hope this bill passes soon.
I am a junior at CSU Long Beach majoring in Social Work and getting a minor in Psychology. Beside all the stress that school can cause to any college student, my biggest stressor is the current fact that I may not be able to fulfill my dream of working and contributing to my community like everyone else. Despite my fear and anger I will continue to fight for my dream because MY DREAM COUNTS TOO!
I was born in mexico but raised in the usa so i am not just a mexican i am a MEXICAN-AMERICAN.
I support this comprehensive BIll!!
Graduating from high school with honors had given me strong hopes for building my future. For the past three and a half years I have been an "AB540" student at a local community college; completed my GED. Where I stand now, gives me no opportunities to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. The DREAM ACT needs to be passed now! I, and many other "AB540" students need to move on.
I am also the byproduct of this lack of inactivedness. Please help Mr. President. I have a Masters in Education and can not teach due to my lack of a greencard.
Thank you
I am in support of the Dream Act. I was born on the fourth of July, 1993 in the U.S. My brother was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States when he was four months old along with our parents. He and my parents have been on visa's for nineteen years, yet it is still impossible for them acquire citizenship. My brother is nineteen and as it is now, he can not be on our parent’s visa after he turns 21 years. The DREAM Act would allow him and many other kids to have a pathway to become citizens.
We are here to contribute to the united states. all we ask for is an opportunity to demonstrate that we are all Americans who love this country and who just want to be a part of it. we are contributors please give us the opportunity to succed!!
My nephew has lived in the USA since he was 4 months old. He has studied hard at school and is now attending Boulder university on a four year course. Because of the laws of the USA he will have to cut short his course when he is 21 and return to a country he hardly knows, leaving behind his family and not being able to complete his Batchelor degree. Surely the USA should be encouraging young people like Mark to stay in the USA and complete their studies not turning their backs on them. Please let this Dream act proceed and stop splitting families.
To be able to have the persistence required to wait for such a monumental bill is an amazing feat by itself. However, to have that persistence along with the willpower and determination to follow your dreams and never allow others' actions to waver your ultimate decision of becoming successful.... that makes me believe that, one day, the world will be a great place because of these incredible people.
We should have the opportunity to dream of our future like all of our other classmates.
The Dream Act would make the dreams of my sister and family, a reachable goal.
This is one of the most important things that Congress must approve. Some undocumeted immigrants come to the US for a safer life. They want to be a part of society and work for the greater good. Many kids have worked hard through school and as they are ready to graduate they can not continue to higher education.
Please pass the dream act, this is going to revitalize our country
I have worked with many outstanding young people who fall into this category. Many of these are more conscientious and are of moral character than some native young people who take their citizenship for granted. We need Dream Act qualifiers to stay here and share their goodness with America and the world.
i strongly support the DREAM ACT. and I really hope President Obama pass the plan as soon as possible in order to let the country allow any of us being able to go to college for achieving further educations and degrees. so many people like me have been living in the darkness, and we need to see some changes of a new immigration policy. please pass the act.
The gifts that the undocumented immigrants bring to the nation are overwhelmingly greater than the cost that is perceived. We cannot afford keeping a section of our population in the the shadows of ignorance. Education is the key for the success of our state and our nation.
Let the children live their dream. Nothing should stop them from getting a better education.
Please pass the DREAM Act. So many students and young people are living in the shadows, being denied inclusion into society and being punished for the actions of their parents.
DREAM 2010
PASS THE DREAM ACT WE ALL HAVE DREAMS FOR A BETTER FUTURE
I am a white, middle-aged, male from Oklahoma...now living in Southern Cal...and I'm angered at the endless injustice and racist rage practiced by so-called Americans against people...our neighbors...who have come across the border to find their dream and contribute to American society. The hate disguised as patriotism has to end. We are all immigrants to America...illegal immigrants, if you ask the Native Americans and indigenous peoples from Mexico who were here first.
